One cannot look deeply into the eyes of an animal and not see the same depth,
complexity and feeling we humans lay exclusive claim to.
Would you like to borrow my hip boots?

The problem is not the problem. •The problem is your attitude towards the problem
I have learned over the last 48 years of friendship with Kim to keep mine in good repair and close by. Thank you for your offer, but I do have my own. Life is never dull and I do live in interesting times, that is for sure.
Ten days ago Kim came home from work to find Mindy feeding a newly hatched baby. Luckily the other two eggs in the box did not hatch, so Kim has one perfect beautiful baby cockatiel in the nest. At first Kim was upset, but the little one quickly won her over and she has been gushing all about the miracle of life and how wonderful it is to watch the baby grow.
Kim has always wanted a super tame bonded baby tiel; preferably a female. I told her this is her chance and now she is absolutely head over heels in love with "MJ", short for Mojo. I guess I can take my hip boots off for a while. Of course since there is only one chick, the parents are stuffing the baby with food and it is growing by leaps and bounds. I will be interested in seeing what color it turns out to be. Mom is a Cinnamon and Dad is a Normal with a few markings of pied on his neck when he was younger. The baby fluff is yellow, so I think if it is a cock, it will be a Normal and if it is a hen it will be a Cinnamon. Kim says she doesn't care, she just is enamoured with the baby. She coos over the baby and pets it whenever she gives them fresh food and water (several times a day) and is determined to co-parent this baby and make it hand tame.
So it seems like everything has worked out for the best.![]()
Congrats on the new baby and hope it is all Kin wants it to be.
If the mother is a cinnamon, and the chick turns out to be cinnamon, then the chick could be male or female. Only way to know for sure is if the chick is a pearl. Otherwise, it's all 50/50 in regards to sex.
Grats on the new little one! Can't wait to see pics and/or further updates!
