Default Budgie Breeders in upstate NY?

My sister wants to get a handfed budgie, and I'm trying to help her find a good breeder. I've searched on birdbreeders.com and google to no avail. We're located in the 607 area code and are willing to travel, but not interested in shipping. If anyone knows of a good budgie breeder in our area, we'd appreciate the help.

She should also consider an English Budgie too.

how far from Albany are you? The Rensselaer Bird Store breeds budgies and hand raises them.

Neither Albany nor Schenectady are too far. Thanks a lot for the help. I'm voting that she chooses Albany because Rensselaer Bird Center looks like my kind of store. Our closest parrot store was flooded out and is still rebuilding, so I'm in withdrawl.

I actually didn't know about the differences between English and American budgies prior to this post. I adopted my grandmother's budgie at age fifteen, and it was actually his passing that prompted me to get my first cockatiel, learn more about parrots, and really foster my love for birds.

My English budgie is larger than the American budgie more lay back and is a great talker. He gets more friendly and is a joy. We are so lucky to have him. I did not know the difference into I found him in a bird store. Now I totally a fan!
