New Rule Regarding Videos and also CL (and other) Ads

For the past few weeks the Administrators and Moderators have been reviewing the escalation of certain videos and Craigslist Ads (as well as other sites) being displayed on Avian Avenue and whether or not it would be prudent to continue to allow these being posted by members.

In light of the recent increase in the number of random YouTube videos being shown of birds in dangerous and/or unhealthy situations that do not deal with any of our members birds, the Administrators have decided that these types of videos will not be allowed anymore on Avian Avenue. There are enough incidents and situations regarding our members' birds for us to concentrate on that would deserve and be benefited more by our time and concern.

Also, from now on we will no longer allow any Craigslist Ads (nor similar info from other sites) showing birds (and other animals) in bad situations just to point out and complain about the deplorable way some people treat their birds (and other animals). There are places on those sites where viewers can leave comments. They do not need to be displayed and commented about in our neighborhood.

We are not making this change to be restrictive or unfair. On the contrary, what is posted on Avian Avenue is very much our concern because education is our top priority. Those who come here for help and suggestions are the ones we want to be available to. By disallowing random, pointless videos will free up the time and efforts of our Administrators, Moderators and all the wonderful members who so readily share their experiences, knowledge and help.
